TR Knapp Architects is a boutique architecture firm specializing in custom residential design, commercial design and construction management. Thomas and Roxanne Knapp started the company in 1995 with a vision of providing high quality affordable design for both residential and commercial projects. While Toms experience has been primarily in residential design and construction management, Roxannes background has been primarily in the design of large commercial projects and municipal facilities. In combining these two talents, TRK aims to lend a more professional approach to residential design and a more personal approach to commercial projects something TRK believes is absent in most corporate firms.
As seasoned architects with a great appreciation for architectural history, Tom and Roxanne have developed an understanding of the designers who have come before them leaving behind a legacy which should be celebrated and preserved. Having strong educational backgrounds in architectural history and a desire to dig deeper into the "genius of the place", we are always eager to make a projects future reflect its past and preserve its integrity. Each project is looked at in terms of the context in which it is located, with the final project reflecting the personality of the neighborhood and its owners.
Some may see small firms as having a distinct disadvantage in scale, TRK believe this to be an asset as our scale allows us to have personal relationships with each of our clients, providing custom design services in both the overall project and the smallest of details. Bringing in outside specialty consultants for larger projects allow us to keep our overhead low and give our clients the expertise necessary to suit each unique projects needs.
